Indian new car sales sign their 4th consecutive month of year-on-year gains at +9% in February to 227,614 deliveries for the 15 brands sharing official data, bringing the year-to-date total to 436,337 units, up 2% on 2014. Maruti keeps its stranglehold on the Indian market at 47.8% share above Hyundai up 10% to 16.4%, Mahindra (-6%) back above Honda (16%) and Tata back up an impressive 22% thanks to the addition of the Bolt (#28) and Zest (#29). Datsun vegetates at #12 with a combined 1,477 sales for the GO+ (#43) and GO (#45) to be compared with 1,296 sales (-48%) for the Tata Nano alone.

Atop the models ranking, the Maruti Alto delivers its best score since June 2013 at 25,673 sales above the Swift (19,546), Dzire (17,085) and Wagon R (14,315) while the Hyundai Elite i20 is above 10,000 monthly deliveries for only the 2nd time ever at 10,264 in 5th place. Further down, notice the Honda Amaze up 19% to #9, the Maruti Celerio back inside the Top 10 at #10 and the Maruti Ciaz stabilising at #14, just below its rival the Honda City at #12.
